Revco Solutions: a hospital bill, a utility or something else?

Revco Solutions, Inc. is a collection agency headquartered in Durham, North Carolina. It works mainly for hospitals and physician groups, including "early out" billing that contacts patients by call, text or email before a balance goes to bad debt. So a Revco call is most often about a hospital or doctor's bill, and the provider's own records are where to start.

The free check comes first and says honestly when a letter will not help. If it will, the letter and three follow-ups cost $39 ($29 for military, veterans, seniors and people with disabilities).

Who Revco collects for

Its own timeline says two collection agencies, PRC and CBCS, were combined under Revco Management in 2019 and the Revco Solutions name launched in 2020. It works mainly for hospitals and physician groups, including "early out" billing that contacts patients by call, text or email before a balance goes to bad debt. It also collects for utilities (electric, gas, telecommunications, water and wastewater) and for government agencies, covering bills such as EMS, taxes and fines.

Because early-out billing works in the provider's name, you may first hear from Revco while the bill still looks like it comes from the hospital. Once it is a collection, the notice must name the creditor and show how the balance was worked out.

Revco and Wakefield & Associates

Revco and Wakefield & Associates announced a merger in February 2025, saying the combined company would operate as Revco Solutions. If you had a Wakefield account, later calls and letters about it may come from Revco. Our Wakefield & Associates page covers that company's details, including its 2025 data breach.

Checking a call or text from Revco

Revco uses two sets of contact details: 855-202-0113 and PO Box 163279 for medical accounts, and 800-596-4047 and PO Box 2589 for other accounts, both in Columbus, Ohio. Its website sends payments to an EvokePay consumer portal at evokepay.com/revco.

Revco's SMS policy says it texts about accounts, that you can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help, and gives (888) 288-4407 for text support. Its state license notices list collection sites in Panama City, Panama; Tijuana, Mexico; and Managua, Nicaragua, as well as US offices, so the person you speak to may not be in the US. If a caller pushes for payment and you are unsure, hang up and call back on one of the numbers above. You may also tell Revco in writing to contact you only by mail.

A written dispute is your strongest first step; our guide on how to write a debt validation letter includes a free sample.

Disputing a Revco bill

A written dispute sent inside the validation period makes Revco stop collecting until it mails verification. For a medical bill, also ask the provider for an itemized bill and the insurance claims history, and ask a nonprofit hospital about financial assistance, which you can usually request even after a bill goes to collections.

Its privacy policy says it may furnish account information to Experian, Equifax and TransUnion. If you dispute and Revco reports the debt, it must show it as disputed. Its Colorado notice says Colorado law bars credit bureaus from reporting medical debt.

For a hospital or doctor's bill, the rules are friendlier than for most debts: see what happens if you do not pay medical bills, and how negotiating a hospital bill can reduce it.

You also have rights over how Revco contacts you: our guide to stopping debt collector calls explains the seven-calls-in-seven-days rule and how to limit contact.

Complaints and court cases

On October 11, 2026 the CFPB's complaint database listed 827 complaints under the name Revco Management, LLC; the most common issue was an attempt to collect a debt the person said they did not owe. Complaints are consumers' own accounts and are not verified by the CFPB.

In December 2022 a federal court in Illinois dismissed, for lack of standing, an FDCPA suit alleging Revco contacted a consumer after her lawyer had told it she was represented. We found no CFPB or state enforcement order against Revco.

A worked example in May

Say Revco mails a notice on Wednesday, May 12, 2027 about a $612.40 balance for an ambulance trip you do not recognize.

  1. Counting five working days, the assumed receipt date is Wednesday, May 19, 2027.
  2. The validation period runs until at least Friday, June 18, 2027.
  3. Write to Revco's medical P.O. box before then, say you do not recognize the debt, and ask for the name of the provider, the date of service and an itemized statement.

For the rules that apply where this example is set, see debt collection law in North Carolina.
